Aspiring Educator

For today’s feature, Ms. Lady Anne Yasmin A. San Jose. She is an educator, teacher from St. Matthew College in 5 consecutive years. She is a student at New Era University for three years with the course of Mass Communication. However, Ms. San Jose decided to shift to BS Education Major in English at St. Matthew College. For now, she is taking up her Master’s degree in teaching at Marikina Polytechnic College (MPC).

“The top three, of course I’ll start with the bottom, third is don’t indulge with too much flattery. Of course you learn how to appreciate that you are being reinforced by someone napupuri ka, but learn also how to shift, after that tapos na,, you should have to pursue something good, something better because you are being flattered, wag kayong mag stop. And then the second one is never expect too much for you not to be discourage at all. And then the first is always be prepared, always plan because if you failed to plan you also plan to fail.” Aside from these, she also achieved her success in life because of her mother who inspires her all the time.
Back in her college days, her only goal is to finish what she has started. She was able to achieve her only goal and that is to finish her studies because she’s already a teacher now.
Additionally, “The key ingredients, let me just use the three P’s in life and that is Purpose, Passion, and Productivity. If you monitor your passion and if you have purpose in life of course, you have your goals, you have set your goals maybe long-term or short-term goals, you would be able to be  productive  every time and that is the time that you are going to be successful in everything that you’ve done.”
Lastly, a little advice for the young readers, stated that ““Do not stop reading, do not stop what you have started. As the saying goes ““It doesn’t matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.”” that’s from Confucius. Don’t stop turning pages because each page represents every single chapter in your life as well.”

A Reflection On Childhood

Childhood memories…. memories that cannot be forgotten. A stage when everything happens. Times that me and my friends are playing agawan base, tago-taguan, patintero, tumbang preso, pogs, text, jolens and other fun and interesting games outside your house. Sometimes I have to remind myself how it felt to be a kid, and memories from my childhood can help me do just that. Whether it's remembering something that made me smile or brought out the happiest part of me and at times certain childhood memories just stick with me for a lifetime.

Many of us are trying to go back and reminisce. Asking ourselves “How am I as a child?” “How are my childhood friends right now?” “Are they already have families? Children?” And a statement “I miss them so much”

What I am trying to say is that childhood memories make my life full of fun of experience. It shape my life and make me who am I today. And lastly, discover myself, create and to know what is my purpose in the future.

Dead Poets Society

The Movie is entitled “Dead Poets Society” directed by Peter Weir. One of the famous statements in the said movie is “Seize the day”; it is when John Keating begins to talk about the Carpe Diem. What he wants to say with his students is that they should make the most of their life while they’re still alive. He teaches them to get out with their comfort zone, to follow and pursue their dreams, to be who they really are, and to inspire and teach them through writing poetry.  However, their parents wants them to become a lawyer, engineer or other professions that they do not really love. Like other teachers, students are forced to obey and follow them and the rules and regulation inside the boarding school.

Todd Anderson, Neil Perry, Charlie Dalton, Richard Cameron, and Knox Overstreet are all students of John Keating. Those students asked John Keating about the Dead Poet Society. When John tell the story of Dead Poets Society, Neil, together and his friends restarts the club, sneak off the campus to go to the cave. Inside the cave were they read poetry including their own compositions.
As time goes by, those students pursue what they really want for their future because of John Keating’s lessons and guidance and their involvement with the club. Everyone pursue their dreams, however, Todd hasn’t, so Keating helps Todd to come out with his comfort zone. And then, fortunately, Todd realizes his potential in composing a poem spontaneously in front of the class of Keating.
Even though they finally found their interest, talents, and skills there will be a scene where Mr. Nolan point out John Keating for the death of one of his own students.
Someone will stand on with John Keating’s desk and salutes him with the words “O Captain! My Captain!”

Baguio - City of Pines

Want to hang out with friends? classmates? relatives? family? Why not go to the City of Pines, Baguio. This maybe one of the best vacation you will experience here in the Philippines. There are a lot of tourist attractions, landmarks and scenic spots for sightseeing around Baguio City, from parks, gardens, museums, camps and cultural villages. For first-time visitors, I recommend to visit camp john hay, burnham park, wright park, mines view park, baguio cathedral, BenCab museum, Baguio night market, The Mansion, orchidarium, and the famous strawberry farm.

Baguio City used to be accessible only through Kennon Road along stretch of zig-zag road connecting the lowland of La Union to the high land Benguet Province. Anyone who travels along this road would still pass by the Lion's Head which symbolizes fierceness and strength.

The last time I went to Baguio, there are only two things I remembered the best about it it’s cool weather and pine trees. The tall pine trees are everywhere, on every corner of the streets, and the roads are just heading either downhill or uphill. Rarely you can see completely flat roads of more than a hundred meter in this city.

Baguio City is located some 250 kilometers from Metro Manila. Me and my family used a car going in Baguio City. We passed through NLEX (North Luzon Express Way) then SCTEX (Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway). Upon reaching Tarlac City exit, we turned left and drive a good 10 km more until you reach MacArthur Highway. The travel time is about 6-7 hours.

On the other hand, there are many hotels you can check in while visiting Baguio city like travelite express hotel, eurotel baguio, la brea inn, hotel supreme baguio, hotel veniz, paladin hotel and many more.

The Ifugao Tribe of Baguio City built the famous rice terraces more than 2,000 years ago. Descendants of the Ifugao Tribe wear traditional dress of colorful woven textiles and headdresses. Some members sell woodcrafts or food, while others are happy to pose for a photograph but make sure you ask permission before taking a picture. And in Baguio, the Panagbenga Flower Festival is celebrated every fourth week of February and is a thanksgiving celebration for Mother Nature. Colorful floats travel down the streets and local tribes dance in native costumes.

Do I Belong to the HUMSS Strand?

We all have different paths to follow, chase, and achieve our dreams. Although you may think you are too young to worry about your future career, it is important that you start thinking about your chosen strand in senior high school right now so that you can take the steps necessary in any career you may choose. Humanities and Social Science (HUMSS) Strand is one of the strands offered in senior high school. But are you sure that you are really part of the HUMSS Strand?

In order to evaluate and assess if your career preference is inclined with the HUMSS Strand, you need to prepare and ready the ingredients such as good communication skills, confidence, creativity, reading and writing skills, being sociable, wide vocabulary, and most importantly, your passion.

The first step of the procedure is to mix good communication skills, confidence, being sociable, and wide vocabulary. Heat your career preference into medium-low. Toast the passion using the passion toaster and set aside.

There are four stages in building up yourself. For the first stage, spread the mixed skills you have twice. Add creativity and on top of it is your reading and writing skills followed by another mixed skills and top with a slice of toasted passion. Now, repeat the steps with another stage until you reach the last stage of the sandwich. Finish it with the final slice of toasted passion and cut it into quarters. Attach a faith in God at the center of your decision you make.

Art of Letting Go

As time goes by, people are afraid to let go of something especially love. Love that cannot be forgotten, love that you never experienced. Yes, you are inlove with her, you care for her, but she is not inlove with you nor like you. You are just fooling your self that someday you and her will be together but it's not gonna happened because she is inlove with somebody. So, what are you waiting for? let go! Forget her! Find another woman that will love and accept you for who you are. Don't be stupid and hilarious like other man risking their life for someone who is not worth risking for. Remain optimistic and have faith you will find love again. Maybe, there is someone out there, but you can't just see her.

Clubhouse Sandwich

There are different ways and steps to prepare a delicious sandwich. First, prepare the ingredients such as bread, onions, lettuce, tomato, tuna, bacon, mayonnaise, pickles, and cheese spread. Prepare the tuna spread for the dish and separate the tuna from the oil. Cut the onions into pieces and mix the tuna, cut onions and mayonnaise in a container. Set aside the mixed tuna spread for awhile. Heat the pot to medium-low and cook the bacon until it is crispy. Toast the bread using bread toaster. As an alternative, you may use the pan for toasting. There are four layers in making the sandwich. For the first layer, spread the tuna spreading twice. Add the lettuce first, and on top of it, the cooked bacon followed by the onions and tomatoes. Add cheese spread, pickles, and top with another slice of toasted bread. Now, repeat the steps with another layer until you reach the last layer of the sandwich. Finish with the final slice of bread and cut it into quarters. Attach a cocktail or toothpick at the center of the sandwich. Wuolah! Ready to serve the special and delicious clubhouse sandwich made with love.
