Aspiring Educator

For today’s feature, Ms. Lady Anne Yasmin A. San Jose. She is an educator, teacher from St. Matthew College in 5 consecutive years. She is a student at New Era University for three years with the course of Mass Communication. However, Ms. San Jose decided to shift to BS Education Major in English at St. Matthew College. For now, she is taking up her Master’s degree in teaching at Marikina Polytechnic College (MPC).

“The top three, of course I’ll start with the bottom, third is don’t indulge with too much flattery. Of course you learn how to appreciate that you are being reinforced by someone napupuri ka, but learn also how to shift, after that tapos na,, you should have to pursue something good, something better because you are being flattered, wag kayong mag stop. And then the second one is never expect too much for you not to be discourage at all. And then the first is always be prepared, always plan because if you failed to plan you also plan to fail.” Aside from these, she also achieved her success in life because of her mother who inspires her all the time.
Back in her college days, her only goal is to finish what she has started. She was able to achieve her only goal and that is to finish her studies because she’s already a teacher now.
Additionally, “The key ingredients, let me just use the three P’s in life and that is Purpose, Passion, and Productivity. If you monitor your passion and if you have purpose in life of course, you have your goals, you have set your goals maybe long-term or short-term goals, you would be able to be  productive  every time and that is the time that you are going to be successful in everything that you’ve done.”
Lastly, a little advice for the young readers, stated that ““Do not stop reading, do not stop what you have started. As the saying goes ““It doesn’t matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.”” that’s from Confucius. Don’t stop turning pages because each page represents every single chapter in your life as well.”

A Reflection On Childhood

Childhood memories…. memories that cannot be forgotten. A stage when everything happens. Times that me and my friends are playing agawan base, tago-taguan, patintero, tumbang preso, pogs, text, jolens and other fun and interesting games outside your house. Sometimes I have to remind myself how it felt to be a kid, and memories from my childhood can help me do just that. Whether it's remembering something that made me smile or brought out the happiest part of me and at times certain childhood memories just stick with me for a lifetime.

Many of us are trying to go back and reminisce. Asking ourselves “How am I as a child?” “How are my childhood friends right now?” “Are they already have families? Children?” And a statement “I miss them so much”

What I am trying to say is that childhood memories make my life full of fun of experience. It shape my life and make me who am I today. And lastly, discover myself, create and to know what is my purpose in the future.

Dead Poets Society

The Movie is entitled “Dead Poets Society” directed by Peter Weir. One of the famous statements in the said movie is “Seize the day”; it is when John Keating begins to talk about the Carpe Diem. What he wants to say with his students is that they should make the most of their life while they’re still alive. He teaches them to get out with their comfort zone, to follow and pursue their dreams, to be who they really are, and to inspire and teach them through writing poetry.  However, their parents wants them to become a lawyer, engineer or other professions that they do not really love. Like other teachers, students are forced to obey and follow them and the rules and regulation inside the boarding school.

Todd Anderson, Neil Perry, Charlie Dalton, Richard Cameron, and Knox Overstreet are all students of John Keating. Those students asked John Keating about the Dead Poet Society. When John tell the story of Dead Poets Society, Neil, together and his friends restarts the club, sneak off the campus to go to the cave. Inside the cave were they read poetry including their own compositions.
As time goes by, those students pursue what they really want for their future because of John Keating’s lessons and guidance and their involvement with the club. Everyone pursue their dreams, however, Todd hasn’t, so Keating helps Todd to come out with his comfort zone. And then, fortunately, Todd realizes his potential in composing a poem spontaneously in front of the class of Keating.
Even though they finally found their interest, talents, and skills there will be a scene where Mr. Nolan point out John Keating for the death of one of his own students.
Someone will stand on with John Keating’s desk and salutes him with the words “O Captain! My Captain!”
